Young State Park {Day 4}

It was another cold day in Michigan (and we head home tomorrow already!) so we made the best of it and took a trip on the Ironton Ferry over to Charlevoix. By the time we got to Charlevoix, the sun was out (doesn't that always happen?!) and we could have fun playing outside.

Tomorrow we try and cram all of our camping things and my parents' camping things into one van . . it might be a challenge!

Young State Park {Day 3}

Daryl headed home yesterday so that he could work this week. I am on a site (19) with my parents so we should still have a great time! It was a cold day in Northern Michigan today - perfect for playgrounds, crayfish catching with Tiffany, duck feeding . . . . and swimming?! Just the kids - not me!!

Camping Trip #2! Young State Park!

A little monkey

Karys is such a little monkey! She can go from a sitting (buckled!) position in the swing to standing up. All on her own! Then she stands in the swing and shakes it and moves it around - it is pretty impressive! She is fearless. And pretty proud of herself too!

Extras around the table!

Savannah has been over at our house playing today, so she stayed for dinner. Tiffany (my cousin) is joining us for a few days before we head up to Young State Park and meet her family up there. The best part? We have a big enough table and dining room that everyone fits!!

A hot, hot day in July!

A super hot day in July calls for pool time, a bike/walk around the neighborhood in swimsuits, and ice cream sundaes for dessert!

Our new house

I sent these pictures to Sara Hinkle - she has a great eye for design - to give me some ideas on decorating and paint colors. I am hopeful that she can give me some good ideas so that this house will begin to feel like our own!

Van Buren State Park {Day 4}

Our last day at Van Buren State Park! It has been a beautiful weekend of camping. Good friends, great weather, beautiful lake! 

A few highlights:

- Samuel learned how to ride a two-wheeler! The training wheels came off and he is a pro!! It hardly took him anytime at all to get the hang of it.

- Today was the perfect beach day. Our friends had to pack up and get going but we stayed for the entire afternoon. The sun was shining, the lake was clear and calm, and the kids played great together. 

- Karys has absolutely no fear of the water. She especially loves floating in her ring. She puts her feet up behind her and floats on the gentle waves. The beach is her happy place!
