I really wanted to do a 12 month post for you with your developmental milestones that you had reached . . . but your 1 year birthday passed by without time for me to blog . . . and then 13 months . . . and then 14 months . . . but I don't want 15 months to pass without writing down what you are doing these days!! You and your siblings keep me busy and it is hard to find time these days to sit down and write a post!! But here we go!!
You are 15 1/2 months old . . . what are you up to?
- You are wearing size 24 month/2T clothing. Some 2T clothes are still too big for you, but most of them are starting to fit. I have pretty much packed away all of your 18 month clothes. A still might fit you, but they won't for long! You are wearing size 5/6 shoes and size 4 diapers.
- You have all of your 1 year molars and you are working on popping a few more teeth through. So that would be 12 teeth with more on the way!
- Your hair is full of curls - so beautiful!
- You are a walker, runner, and climber. You are my first baby that climbs on top of anything you can find - chairs, tables, picnic tables, playground equipment, etc etc! You are also really good at going up and down stairs.
- I think you are close to saying some words. The only "for sure" words we have heard from you are: go, rock, bye-bye, and hi. I think "hi" was probably your first word. Now that we live across the street from Grandpa and Grandma, you love to go down to the end of the driveway and shout "hi!" and wave your little hands if you see anyone at all over at Grandpa and Grandma's house. You do a lot of babbling and talking to us as if you totally expect us to understand what you are saying. The other day the kids were playing in the living room and they would occasionally run into the kitchen to tell Daddy something. You decided to join in and you ran into the kitchen, stopped, looked at Daddy, babbled a whole string of your babble, and then ran back in the living room. So precious!
- Your favorite toys are: Little People, balls, strollers, anything little that fits into your hand, containers, and anything that your siblings have. We try and read books to you but you don't sit still for very long and you become impatient with them quite quickly. We will keep on trying! You still have a love for destroying things - paper, your brother's foam airplane, books, flaps in books, magazines, matchbox cars (you threw one of Samuel's the other day and broke it!) - much to your siblings' dismay. We continue to dig things out of your mouth that you find around the house but that is improving as you get older.
- You love to brush your teeth - you even try and spit into the sink just like your brother and sisters.
- You still love your pacifiers but we try very hard to limit them to when you are in your bed or in the car.
- You nap between 1 and 4 every day. Sometimes your nap is 2 hours . . . sometimes 3.
- You nurse twice a day but we are working on being done with nursing.
