Samuel's New Puzzle!

Karys' first taste of frozen blueberries.  She loved them!  Then they got really mushy and messy . . . ;)

This is what you would see if you would drive past our house.  I can't believe it!  We decided to put it up on the market and see what happens.  I know that God will sell it if He has a better house our there for us.  We love love LOVE our house but it is starting to feel a little small, especially the kitchen and eating area.  The sign went up while I was gone today and I came back to a facebook message from our sweet neighbor across the street that said "a horrible sign was put up in your front yard, please tell me it isn't true!"  I walked over there right away to give her a hug and talk to her for a little bit.  After that, I walked back across the street to find our next door neighbor, Mike, standing in his driveway with his hands up in the air saying, "Sara!!!"  Our mail lady even knocked on the door and told us we weren't allowed to move!  Our neighbors makes it really really hard to think about moving.  We love our neighbors!  Samuel is also having a little bit of a hard time with the whole idea of our house being for sale.  When he first saw the sign and I started to explain it to him, his bottom lip quivered and he looked at me and said, "you're joking, Mom!"  It has helped to continue making it clear to him that everything in our house will go with us when we move - his toys, bed, etc etc.

Happy Halloween!!  We went to Trunk or Treat at our Church on Wednesday night.  The weather was beautiful and the kids had a blast!  The crowds were crazy though!!  An estimated 2000 people were there.  It was nuts.  The kids did really good waiting in the lines though and we had good conversation with friends while we slowly moved from trunk to trunk.  The forecast for Halloween night was super cold and rainy so I think a lot of people took advantage of the beautiful weather and decided to do their trick-or-treating early!
Hope is a princess robot (totally her awesome idea!), Samuel was a pirate, and Aliyah was a "purple Cinderella"

Today, I took the kids to Daryl's work in the afternoon to go trick or treating at all of the cubicles.  I love that his work does this - especially because it was really rainy this year!  A warm and dry place to go trick or treating is awesome!  And then this evening we stayed home and gave away all the candy we didn't want our kids to eat!  A win-win situation. :)

Samuel was my big helper at the grocery store on Monday! I love having him with me when I go grocery shopping!

Daryl sold his car this week.  It had a total of about 159,000 miles on it.  We drove this car 63,520 miles.  It needed a lot of work - about 2500 dollars worth.  We made the decision to sell it to our mechanic (he wanted it for his 16 year old son) and buy my parent's Buick Century.  It was a little sad to say good-bye to the first car that we bought together.  We bought it in June of 2005, 2 months before we got married. :)

Our first snow of the season was on Thursday.  It would be safe to say that the kids were more excited than I was!

This? Not cool. Karys loves her blanket and often will pull it right over her head as she is falling asleep.  At least it is a crocheted blanket with lots of holes in it!

First Bites of Food!

Karys first bites of baby food (bananas) were not too enjoyable! She made some horrible faces and took maybe 3 bites before refusing it completely. We'll keep on trying!! :)

Kids Bowling!

Samuel has been asking and asking to go "kids bowling".  Today, he finally got his wish!  My Mom took him and Savannah to Airway Lanes to try out some bowling!!  I think it was a little different than what he expected but he still really enjoyed it.  I am so thankful for my Mom and for what a wonderful Grandma she is!
** This is also the day that I tried to potty train Aliyah.  After cleaning up many potty messes, I gave up.  I'm not sure that she realizes what it feels like before she starts going potty.  I am just not sure she is ready.  Maybe we'll try again in the Spring!?
