Karys' ER Visit

Karys had her first trip to the ER tonight!  I was watching her play a few days ago and said outloud, "I wonder what your first trip to the ER will be for, Karys."  It wasn't for climbing on a rock and falling off and rolling down a bank towards a pond (that happened yesterday), getting stuck under the kiddie pool (I lifted it on its side to empty it and then dropped it back down without realizing Karys had walked under it), and it wasn't for opening the screen sliding door and heading outside and down the deck stairs without anyone noticing (almost gave me a heart attack!) . . . this girl is going to give me gray hairs!  Nope, instead it was for trying to slide off of the little kid's picnic table and not getting her feet down before her body went forwards.  My sweet baby did a face plant on our deck and put her teeth right through the skin under her lip.  The blood was pretty impressive!  My parents were here eating with us so Daryl and I just grabbed Karys and hopped right into the car to head for the ER.  Did I ever mention how nice it is to live across the street from my parents?  Karys was not impressed with ER or with anyone that was there.  She even was mad that she had a hospital bracelet on.  Thankfully it was loose enough that I just slid it off - then it became a great toy!  We were in the ER for about 1 1/2 hours.  Not bad.  They glued up her cut (it stopped bleeding and was pretty well approximated by the time to the doctor saw it so he decided to glue it just to keep it together nicely until it can heal a little bit more) and sent us on our way!  So thankful that it was any worse!!

Enjoying our new house!

A breakfast bar was on my "must have" list for our new house.  The kids sit here ALL the time.  I love it!

We have a dining room big enough for a table that fits all 6 of us!  And a table that fits all of our food on it!  At our old house, half of our food ended up on the floor while we were eating because it didn't fit in the middle of the table. That came around to bite us a few weeks ago when Karys dumped the whole water pitcher out because it was left on the floor while we were reading the Bible after supper!

Old toys that have been in storage are new again!

I have been waiting for a counter like this! I love being able to make cookies with my kids and having room for all of them to help!

Swinging under the huge willow tree in our backyard.

A beautiful deck on the back of our house is perfect for some morning play-doh time while Mommy drinks her coffee!

I needed a plunger. Anna was at her house tanning. This is what came running up the street.  Enough said. :)

We bribe Anna with Karys and Nutty Bars to make sure she keeps coming over to visit. ;)

{Mother's Day 2014}

Mother's Day. So blessed.

The moving begins!

We aren't doing a lot of moving today (our official moving day is this upcoming Monday!) but the Driesengas were okay with us moving some of our outdoor things today.  We especially wanted to move the swingset over because we needed a different trailer for it than what we will need for the rest of our belongings.  It's beginning to get real!

Karys chillin' in her carseat (inside the house . . . she likes to climb in it and just sit!)

Watching Grandpa and Daddy move their swingset!

(mini) iphone photo dump

After 5 1/2 years of free extended cable, Charter finally did an audit and took it away.  We enjoyed it while it lasted!  And we find it pretty ironic that they did this less than 2 weeks before we move to a new house.  We went to turn on the Tigers game a few nights ago and . . . . nothing.  It was always our joke that it would be hard for us to move because then we wouldn't be able to watch our Tigers' games.  So, now we can move!

Best $18 ever spent.  We stopped at Meijer and picked up this pool on the way home from the park today because my kids were saying they wanted to swim.  Since we are moving in a couple of days I didn't want to haul out our big blow-up pool.  This definitely did the trick for the day!

Sold!

Tomorrow is the day that we close on both of our houses!  It’s hard to believe that our time at this house on Pinehurst is coming to a close.  We are so excited to move to a bigger house but the memories in this house are abundant and wonderful!  We are praying that God will continue to bless this house and that He will pour out His blessings on us as we move to our new house and begin a new chapter of our lives!
