Karys Alexandra: 2 months

I know I say this every time, but I honestly cannot believe that 2 months has already gone by since we welcomed sweet Karys into our family.  She bring so much joy to our family and we are so incredibly thankful for these past 2 months.  She is growing and changing so quickly.  I want to remember everything that I possibly can from this stage in her life . . . so here we go . . . :)

Karys Alexandra:

  • You are 14lbs 3oz and 23.5" long.  You are in the 89th percentile for height and the 95th percentile for weight.  I still call you my "little peanut" because you are a good 3lbs smaller than both your brother and your sister at this same age.
  • You got your first vaccinations today. :(  You screamed.  After you were done screaming you decided to sleep the day away!
  • You are in size 2 diapers and in size 3-6 month clothes.  3 month clothes still fit you but they aren't any too big!  And when you wear cloth diapers, you need to wear 6 month clothes because of all the extra padding and pudge that they give you!
  • You are good at giving lots of big, beautiful smiles!  I love your pretty smiles and how quickly you respond to Mommy when you see me or hear my voice.
  • You coo and "talk" about as much, if not more, than you smile.
  • You love to talk and make happy noises.  You listen so intently and you are always looking around and trying to follow people (especially your siblings!) around the room.
  • You have a beautiful complexion and often get compliments from complete strangers on it.  You are staying darker (like your Daddy!) with your dark hair and eyebrows and darker skin.
  • You sleep from 10 or 11 at night until 6 or 7 in the morning.  Then you will nurse and go back to sleep again for another 3-4 hours.  You are a great sleeper!  You don't always nap the greatest but then you have days where you nap most of the day . . . you definitely don't really have much of a schedule or a pattern yet during the day. :)
  • You sleep on your back and you are completely content with that.  You don't like your hands to be swaddled in your blanket and you prefer them up by your face or over your head.  You get hot quite easily and when you get hot, you get cranky and mad!
  • You are great at finding your fist and sucking on it . . . maybe a future thumb sucker?
  • Two of your favorite positions are being held facing away from us and laying on the floor flat on your back.  You will go up on our shoulder if you are tired or just want some snuggles - Mommy loves that!
  • You are liking your pacifier less and less.
  • You love to grab onto my shirt when I am nursing you.  I love it too. :)
  • Your siblings love you and love being around you, holding you, reading you books, showing you toys, and having you "watch" them play.  They have a hard time keeping their hands off of you and sometimes that makes you a little irritated - especially when they are constantly touching your head or your face.  You let them know when you are done with them smothering you!!
  • We've started giving you baths in the big bath tub with Samuel.  I can't believe that you are close to outgrowing sink baths.  You are starting to get mad when you take baths in the sink because you want to kick and you can't . . . or you do kick and then you hit your head on the faucet . . . which also makes you mad!
